basic info [MON AUG 11th ; 7:12PM] Have you ever been a fan of a comic book and wanted to play a character from there but you've just never thought you've known enough about the verse to actually pick them up? Did you ever want to join a superhero community but couldn't decide on a character base? The idea for this community is that you find a hero, villain, or civilian, male or female, from a comic book and use this person as your base. The character doesn't have to have the same name, background, affiliations or even be the same sex. They don't even need to know to be attached to the same people, like Spiderman being in love with Mary Jane. All they need to have is the same codename (ie: 'Rogue' or 'Joker') and the same basic personality traits (ie: your "Superman" would be an almost indestructible character with strong morals). We will accept any character as long as they have been features in comic books. We also prefer that you use the comic canon for your character basis instead of movie or television shows. application [MON AUG 11th ; 2:34PM] Below is the application for the community. Please make sure that you request membership here and here before applying. To apply, please post the application in an unlocked entry in your journal and comment with a link to it on this post. name: full name, first, last and middle if they have one character basis: who are they based off of, what is their codename? age/birthday: no characters under the age of 18 powers: a general overview, we do not need a massive paragraph but you're welcome to write one if you want. remember they are the same as their base weaknesses: like above, we do not need a detailed paragraph but we want to know you have a general idea of your character moral affiliation: good, bad, neutral? doesn't have to be the same as in the comics. affiliation: are they on a hero team, independent, vigilante, villain team, neutral? information: a substantial biography or a list of detailed facts pb: what face are you using? journal: make it related to your character or their powers! aim name: optional! character related or ooc, just make sure to clarify pb picture link: two pictures please, at least 300 x 300, MQ or HQ examples: at least one journal entry and one aim/thread example. pm, example journals or a private entry viewable to only us in your journal is fine. just tell us which it is ( application ) first adds on mon, aug 25th or by the 8th application, whichever comes first! all applications are screened for privacy. comment

teams and picture directory [MON AUG 11th ; 11:36AM] hero teams The idea of heroes, superhuman and otherwise, is something that after a few years of published studies and vigilante antics, the mayor and other elected officials of Novum City decided to take advantage of these people who wished to help and use them in the police departments battle against crime. The heroes who have joined these groups are on a payroll from the city, employed much like police officers, and are on call for emergencies. It is also required for these heroes to reveal their identities to the police commissioner and is optional if they want these identities to be revealed to the public. ( onto the hero teams... ) independent heroes / vigilantes These heroes are either employed by the city (though there is a very limited number) and have chosen not to work on a team or they work separate of the government and are considered illegal vigilantes who usually go above and beyond (and sometimes straight against) the law to catch and punish bad guys. There is an unlimited number of these teams. ( onto the other heroes... ) villain teams Villain teams are very rare because of duelling opinions and an inability for these people to get along and usually come about only in extreme need because the heroes have been doing too good a job of cleaning up the streets. More often than not, a villain team only lasts a few months, maybe years, until their main goal is accomplished. ( onto the villain teams... ) independent villains These men and women are more freelance than their teamed counterparts, however, this does not make them any less dangerous. What their ultimate goal is varies from person to person, as is their methods to getting what they want. Some have been active for years and have gained many enemies among heroes and sometimes even other villains while others have just begun to run amok. ( onto the other villains... ) neutral characters These people do not belong to any hero group or villain group and are mostly just trying to make their way in the world. Or they have not decided to which side they want to lean. These people can have powers, super gadgets made for their own amusement (or maybe to sell) or even be normal every day people.
